Total War Announces My Dream Game

I love comics, I love heroes, and villains struggling against one another in a never-ending stalemate of justice vs evil. However, above every story I have ever read, there is one that I hold high above the rest. It is the source for my love of all things nerdy, between my love of comics and even my love of history, and that is the Iliad by Homer. The epic poem that tells the tale of events that occurred during the 9th year of the Trojan War. The Iliad was my bedtime story growing up, my dad would read this beautifully illustrated edition of "The Iliad and the Odyssey" and I don't think there is a single childhood memory that I cherish more than sitting on his lap and looking through those beautifully illustrated pages as men and gods clashed in front of the walls of Troy. So Here'ns the Thing, about a week or so ago, the game series: Total War (known for their installments such as Rome, and Shogun Total War), announced their latest upcoming project Troy: A Total War Saga and they did so with an epic trailer.

This trailer gave me goosebumps. I have not been this excited for a video game since the Dynasty Warrior team announced Warriors: Legends of Troy. While people did not like the Warriors Trojan war game, I loved it and if I had a PS3, I'd probably be playing it nonstop in anticipation for this game. Sadly I don't, so instead, so I was going to just watch the 5 scenes in the movie Troy worth watching over and over again, and watch this trailer until my eyes bleed or until they share more gameplay footage for me to foam at the mouth over. However, then I had an epiphany.

It was while I was talking to my best friend, who in fact showed me this trailer and had even told me a week prior that there was a leak that this was coming, I was going through my usual tangents on how Hollywood always fucks up certain things about the story and how that always pisses me off. Then it occurred to me, I don't just have to drown his ears in my complaints about Hollywood and media portrayal of the Trojan War... I HAVE A BLOG! It may be small, but the people who read it allegedly enjoy what I have to say, so say it I shall! However, this post will not be a titan where I break down every issue I have with past presentations, and how I hope that this game will do proper justice to the story. Instead, I will be writing multiple pieces here on multiple topics. These topics will be: "Achilles vs Hector: What Hollywood Gets Wrong," "Hero Unsung: Where's Diomedes?" and finally, "Paris and Helen: Villains of Troy." I know I know, you can barely stand your excitement, don't worry, neither can I.

Ta ta for now! I'll be back very soon with more content on Troy!
